Hi Fashionistas! Everything You Need To Know About London Fashion Week SS17 is here. The shows, the venues, the brands.. Your personal cheat sheet. 🙂 I know it’s hard to keep up however here is more info for all you fashion lovers.
Versus Versace and MM6 Maison Margiela will show in London this September, after several seasons showing in Paris and New York respectively.
London’s rising stars Molly Goddard, Teatum Jones and Huishang Zhang will all be presenting stand-alone debut catwalk shows this season. These are London’s names to watch.
Boden Future British
Boden and the British Fashion Council present Future British – a joint initiative set up earlier this year to support and mentor emerging British talent. This season’s winners include Alice Ashby of Blake LDN, Arthur Yates of Bruta, Samantha McCoach of Le Kilt, Caitlin Charles-ones and Camilla Elphick.
Topshop’s mentoring programme NEWGEN adds Paula Knoor to their roster of emerging design talent this season. Previous NEWGEN success stories include Jonathan Saunders, Christopher Kane and Marios Schwab so we’re expecting big things from Knoor.
Lulu Kennedy has added newcomer Matty Brown to her Fashion East line-up of AV Robertson, Richard Malone and Mimi Wade, reportedly making this season her ‘dream line-up’. Expect bonkers knitwear.
This girl has already walked an impressive 12 shows in New York and closed one of them—we can’t wait to see more of her in London too.
Exciting new face London—pronounced just like London, if you were wondering—has already walked for Yeezy and has been a YSL exclusive. Safe to say she’s pretty cool.
Alien-like like Lorena has an eerie charm. This season, she has already brought it onto the catwalks of Victoria Beckham, Altuzarra and Proenza Schouler.
Will we ever tire of amazing brows? Definitely not! This season, Sandra has already graced the runways of Carolina Herrera and Oscar de la Renta,
and they definitely weren’t the last ones.
Another curly wonder set to make it big. She has already had the honour of both opening and closing the Rebecca Minkoff show this season.
There has been much noise recently surrounding the new fashion show model that makes collections ready to buy moments after they have appeared on the catwalk. Tommy Hilfiger, Tom Ford and Burberry have all dipped their toes into this dramatic new approach and now Topshop will be joining them in this timely shift towards a more consumer-facing market. On your marks, get-set….shop!
Soho’s favourite Italian deli (conveniently located right next to the Brewer Street Car Park venue) will be looking after the fashion crowd this weekend with their special Lina packed lunches. Expect Prosciutto Di Parma & Mozzarella Panino, Italian salads and Lina Stores’ famous Baci chocolate & hazelnut brownies. Well worth the trip into Soho for, fashion week or no fashion week.
Burberry at Makers House
Burberry move from Kensington Palace to Soho’s Makers House. Get there early to watch the A-list FROW-ers filter in. Following the show at their new venue, Burberry will be throwing open the doors to Makers House (located at 1 Manette St in Soho) for a week to play home to craft makers who will be creating works inspired by the Burberry collection, in-conversation industry talks and live Burberry Acoustic music performances. Not to be missed. Head to Burberry.com for more information.
The Topshop showspace venue moves to East London’s Spitalfield’s Market. Well worth a visit to be one of the first to shop the SS17 Unique collection at a special pop-up shop that will be appearing outside the show. You heard it here first.
